Cassandra Jenkins makes the kind of music that rewards patience, blending ambient pop textures with folk sensibilities and a knack for quietly devastating lyrics. Her 2021 album An Overview on Phenomenal Nature, produced by multi instrumentalist Josh Kaufman, earned widespread critical acclaim and established her as one of indie folk's more compelling voices. She followed it up with My Light, My Destroyer in 2024, which landed an 8.0 from Pitchfork, and then My Light, My Massage Parlor in 2025. Before stepping out on her own, Jenkins put in time as a backing musician for Eleanor Friedberger and Craig Finn, and was set to tour with Purple Mountains before the tragic death of David Berman in 2019. More recently she has shared stages with Courtney Barnett and Mitski, opening dates across the US and UK. The New York City based singer songwriter has been building her audience show by show, record by record.
