Cemeteries

About

Cemeteries is the solo project of Kyle J. Reigle, a Buffalo bred musician who conjures something that sits right between dreamy and unsettling. He describes his sound as dream pop, though he half jokes that "nightmare pop" might be the more honest label. The name itself was chosen deliberately for its associations with eeriness and stillness, and that mood runs through everything he makes. Reigle handles the whole thing himself, writing and recording mostly late at night, often with the next album already taking shape in his head before the current one is finished. A case in point: while working on the album Barrow, he was already mapping out a deliberately different direction for what would come next. He has also spent time based in Portland, where he set up a dedicated recording space.
