About
Charl Delemarre fronts a band built around the songs of Ramses Shaffy, the Dutch singer whose passionate, melancholic and life loving material left a deep mark on the country's music history. Rather than copying Shaffy, Charl treats the songs as something personal, aiming for emotion and honesty in every performance. His take on Shaffy's "Laat me" earned him a spot in the spotlight on the TV programme The Tribute: Battle of the Bands, where the jury praised how close the band gets to Shaffy's sound and how strongly Charl puts himself into the music. The set draws on well known Shaffy songs such as "Sammy" and "Zing, Vecht, Huil, Bid, Lach, Werk en Bewonder", each delivered in the band's own way.
