Charlotte OC, the stage name of Charlotte O'Connor from Blackburn, pulls from gospel, soul, house, and the kind of electronic music you'd hear at Berlin's Berghain, which gives her sound a restless, hard to pin down quality. Noisey once described her as blending cosmic mystic pop with breathless vulnerability and the vocal power to keep up with Adele, while Hunger magazine called her output "spiritual and almost occultist". After signing a four album deal with Columbia Records at 18 and releasing her debut album For Kenny in 2011, she was dropped and briefly worked in her mother's salon before bouncing back. She rebuilt under the name Charlotte OC, releasing a run of EPs with producer Tim Anderson that caught the attention of BBC Radio 1 and landed her on plenty of ones to watch lists. Her 2017 album Careless People pulled together influences from Alicia Keys to Leonard Cohen, and she followed it up with Here Comes Trouble in 2021. A new EP, Seriously Love, Go Home, arrived in 2025.
