With over 15 million records sold and 21 albums to his name, Chayanne has built one of the most enduring careers in Latin pop. The Puerto Rican singer started out in the group Los Chicos, which became a serious rival to Menudo across Latin America, before going solo in 1984 and signing with RCA Víctor. The real breakthrough came after switching to Sony Music, where his self titled 1987 album set the template he would run with for decades: ballads and dance tracks woven together, hooky and physical at the same time. Hits kept coming through the nineties and into the 2000s. "Provócame" became his signature song, "El Centro de mi Corazón" topped the U.S. Hot Latin chart in 1992, and later singles like "Dejaría Todo", "Yo Te Amo" and "Un Siglo Sin Ti" all hit number one. He also carved out a screen career, most notably starring opposite Vanessa L. Williams in the 1998 Hollywood film Dance with Me, where he played a Cuban dancer.
