Chris Janson has a knack for writing the kind of country songs that end up on other people's biggest hits, having co written Tim McGraw's "Truck Yeah" and contributed to albums by Lee Brice and Holly Williams, all before most people knew his name. Then "Buy Me a Boat" changed that. He self released it in early 2015, it caught a wave of radio play, and by August it had cracked the top five on Country Airplay. Warner Records Nashville came calling, and the rest followed fast. Since then Janson has put out three albums through Warner, with Real Friends delivering back to back number ones on Country Airplay in "Good Vibes" and "Done". He plays harmonica, writes his own stuff, co writes for others, and moves between straightforward bar country and something a little more earnest without missing a step. He has since launched his own imprint, Harpeth 60 Records, giving him a new home for his music going forward.
