About
Also known as: Christopher Alan Young
Winning season four of Nashville Star in 2006 was just the starting pistol for Chris Young, the Murfreesboro, Tennessee country singer who turned a reality TV win into a string of genuine chart hits. Signed to RCA Records Nashville straight after his victory, he hit his stride with his second album The Man I Want to Be, which delivered three number ones including "Gettin' You Home (The Black Dress Song)" and a cover duet with Willie Nelson. He kept the momentum going through the Neon and A.M. eras, racking up hits like "Tomorrow", "You", and "Aw Naw". A crowning moment came in 2017 when Vince Gill personally invited him to join the Grand Ole Opry, one of the most prestigious memberships in country music. His collaborative single "Famous Friends" with Kane Brown also showed he can light up a room on the big stage.
