Christina Milian first turned heads as a featured vocalist on Ja Rule's 2000 single "Between Me and You", and from there carved out a solid pop and R&B career with genuine chart reach on both sides of the Atlantic. Her 2004 album It's About Time was the commercial high point, driven by "Dip It Low" featuring Fabolous, which cracked the top five on the Billboard Hot 100. While US success was real, she arguably hit even harder in the UK, where every Island Records single landed in the top 10. She also voiced the theme song for the Disney Channel cartoon Kim Possible, one of those fun career footnotes that most people only half remember. Acting has always run parallel to the music. Her first lead film role came in Love Don't Cost a Thing in 2003, followed by Be Cool and Pulse. More recently she played María LaGuerta in Dexter: Original Sin. Away from screens, she co founded Beignet Box, a dessert shop in the Los Angeles area.
