About
Also known as: CHYU, Kim Jiwoo, チュウ, 김지우, 츄
Chuu is the kind of idol who turned a very public mess into a fresh start. After years as a member of Loona and its sub unit yyxy, she was expelled from the group in late 2022 amid disputed claims from her agency, a move that drew plenty of fan backlash and industry skepticism. She had already been building a life outside the group: hosting her own eco themed YouTube series, popping up on variety shows like King of Mask Singer, acting in the web drama Dating Class, and releasing collaborations such as "Lullaby" with B.I. Her solo debut came in October 2023 with the EP Howl and its title track, after she signed with ATRP. Strawberry Rush followed in June 2024, with a music video shot in Australia, and Only Cry in the Rain arrived in April 2025. She has also returned to acting, taking a role in the fantasy romance drama My Girlfriend Is the Man! Her first studio album, XO, My Cyberlove, was announced to follow.
