About
Citizen Soldier got their start in an unusual place: frontman Jake Segura wrote the lyrics to their first song, "Let It Burn", on a napkin while in a psychiatric hospital in 2016. That origin story says a lot about what drives the Salt Lake City rock band. Mental health is central to everything they do, and they describe their live shows as a kind of group therapy, a space for people who feel overlooked to feel seen. Since their debut single in 2017, they have built up a serious catalog fast. Eight studio albums in under a decade, including Down the Rabbit Hole, Scarecrow, and ICU, with most songs rolling out as singles before the full album drops. In 2023 they toured North America alongside Smash Into Pieces and even teamed up with them for an acoustic take on "Six Feet Under". Their latest release, Family Heirlooms, came out in 2025.
