About
Cliff & The Shadows Tributeband brings the classic sound of Cliff Richard and The Shadows back to life, with a distinctive flavour from Volendam. The group was co founded by Jack Veerman, who spent 35 years as the drummer for Dutch band BZN, along with his brother André and a circle of seasoned musicians from the Volendam scene. Bassist Tom Zwarthoed stepped in to fill André's place after his passing. Vocalist Jan Mühren handles the Cliff Richard songbook, guitarist Jack Schilder takes on Hank Marvin's iconic solo work, and the lineup is rounded out by Cor Klein on guitar, Chris Klein covering keyboards, harmonica, rhythm guitar and accordion, and backing vocalists Mirjam Oud and Marije van der Zee. Together they dig into the rock and roll catalogue that Cliff Richard and The Shadows built across decades, celebrating a legacy that includes a 15,000 strong anniversary concert in London in 2009.
