About
Cloud Nothings started as a bedroom recording project by Dylan Baldi in 2009, with Baldi handling everything himself before pulling together a full live band. The Cleveland outfit really hit its stride with Attack on Memory in 2012, recorded with Steve Albini at Electrical Audio. That album earned a Pitchfork "Best New Music" tag and an 8.6 score, landed the band on the Jimmy Fallon Show, and got them slots at Coachella and the Fuji Rock Festival. From there, Cloud Nothings kept pushing their sound into noisier, more intense post hardcore territory. Here and Nowhere Else picked up another Pitchfork "Best New Music" nod in 2014, and the band even released a collaborative album with Wavves in 2015. Later records like Last Building Burning and The Shadow I Remember showed they had no interest in softening up. Signed now to Pure Noise Records, the trio of Baldi, drummer Jayson Gerycz, and bassist Chris Brown remains one of the more reliably ferocious bands in indie rock.
