About
Coaster is a slowcore project built around guitarists Bart Appel and Paul Dijkman. The two gravitated toward each other over a shared love of quiet, unhurried music, drawing on the lo fi and slowcore sounds that acts like Duster, Red House Painters, Low and Elliott Smith were making in the 90s and early 2000s. That lineage comes through clearly in what Coaster does: intimate, melancholic songs wrapped in dreamy indie rock, with understated storytelling at their core. Themes of resilience, fleeting memories and still moments run through the music, giving it a quality that feels both nostalgic and deeply personal at the same time.
