Collie Buddz

About

Also known as: Colin Harper, Colli Buddz, Collie Budz

Collie Buddz, born Colin Harper in New Orleans and raised in Bermuda, broke through with his self titled debut album in 2007 on Columbia Records. The record hit the Billboard 200 and carried the singles "Come Around" and "Mamacita", the latter shifting around four million copies. He kept his momentum going with a guest spot on Shaggy's album Intoxication and even wrote the WWE entrance theme for wrestler Kofi Kingston. His stage shows have a reputation of their own, especially his habit of pulling audience members up to sing the third verse of "Blind to You". Over the years Buddz has built up a serious festival resume, from Lollapalooza to the California Roots Music and Arts Festival, and his 2017 album Good Life hit number one on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart. His follow up Hybrid topped the same chart in 2019, with a guest list that included Snoop Dogg, Russ and Tech N9ne. He also produces the annual Cali Roots Riddim compilation series, pulling together a wide cast of reggae and reggae rock acts. His fourth studio album Take It Easy landed in 2023 and earned a Grammy nomination for Best Reggae Album, and 2025 saw him team up with Busy Signal on the track "Spark Up".
