About
Connolly Hayes came together after singers Jess Hayes and Frankie Connolly shared a stage at the Isle of Wight Festival in 2023, a performance that convinced them to form a full band. They recruited guitarist Richard Clarke, bassist Beau Barnard, keyboardist Joe Mac and drummer Andy Wilder, and quickly built a sound that draws on blues, rock and soul in roughly equal measure. Influences from the Tedeschi Trucks Band and Rufus and Chaka Khan are audible in their mix of soulful vocals, tasteful guitar and keys, and a rhythm section that locks into a deep groove. Their debut album Remember Me earned Pick of the Month recognition from the Independent Blues Broadcasters Association, and the band followed it with a live EP recorded at Echo Zoo Studios. In 2025 they received two UK Blues Awards nominations, for Band of the Year and Album of the Year. Their live shows lean on interplay and dynamics rather than spectacle, which has helped them build a growing reputation on the British festival circuit and beyond.
