About
Bywater Call are a seven piece roots rock and southern soul band from Toronto whose biggest weapon is singer Meghan Parnell. Her voice draws frequent comparisons to Bonnie Raitt and Susan Tedeschi, and it sits at the centre of everything the band does. Around her, the lineup is stacked: Dave Barnes on guitar, Bruce McCarthy on drums, Mike Meusel on bass, Andrew Moljgun on keys, Stephen Dyte on trumpet, and Julian Nalli on tenor saxophone. That brass section alone tells you this is not your average guitar band. Live, they have a reputation for performances that are both emotionally charged and musically adventurous, with a lot of interplay between the members. Their fourth studio album is called Broken Souvenirs. Fans of Black Pumas, Alabama Shakes or Shakey Graves tend to find a lot to love here.
