Conor Maynard shot into the UK charts in 2012 with his debut single "Can't Say No", which debuted at number two and racked up over fourteen million YouTube views within months. The Brighton singer had already built a following online through covers before Warner Music picked him up, and the buzz was enough to win him MTV's Brand New for 2012 award with nearly half the public vote. His debut album Contrast went straight to number one on the UK Album Chart, and included the Ne Yo collaboration "Turn Around". Maynard has kept things varied over the years. His 2016 album Covers leaned into what his online audience loved, reworking tracks like "Pillowtalk" and "Hello" alongside one original. He also branched into theatre, taking the lead role of Charlie Price in the Broadway production of Kinky Boots in late 2018. His third studio album, +11 Hours, arrived in 2023, showing he has no intention of slowing down.
