Cornelia Jakobs has one of those voices that feels equally at home in a bedroom pop recording and on an arena stage. The Swedish singer and songwriter, originally from Nacka, built her early career as part of the girl group Love Generation, which competed in Melodifestivalen in both 2011 and 2012. She later stepped into songwriting, contributing to the 2021 edition of the competition with Best of Me for Efraim Leo. Then came Hold Me Closer. Written by Jakobs alongside Isa Molin and David Zandén, the song won Melodifestivalen 2022 and sent her to the Eurovision Song Contest in Turin, where Sweden finished fourth with 438 points. The track went on to win song of the year at the Swedish Rockbjörnen prize and earned Jakobs a Marcel Bezençon Composer Award. Her YouTube channel also features the cover Everybody's Changing, a take on the Keane classic that shows off the quieter, more intimate side of her artistry.
