About

Danity Kane made history before most people had even heard of them, becoming the first female group to debut their first two albums at number one on the Billboard 200. Formed through MTV's Making the Band in 2005 and signed to Bad Boy Records by Sean Combs, the group hit hard out of the gate with their self titled debut selling over 234,000 copies in its first week. Producers like Timbaland, Scott Storch and Rodney Jerkins shaped that record, which spawned the top 10 single "Show Stopper" and the ballad "Ride for You". Their second album, Welcome to the Dollhouse, followed in 2008 with "Damaged" leading the charge. The group's story has been anything but straightforward. Combs removed two members live on television in 2008, a reunion in 2013 fell apart twice over, and a third album, DK3, still came out in 2014 despite the chaos surrounding it. The name itself comes from a female anime superhero created and drawn by member Dawn Richard, which says a lot about the group's origins. The current lineup of O'Day, Woodgett and Fimbres announced a return in 2025 with the Untold Chapter Tour.
