About
Also known as: Danna Paola Rivera Munguía
Few Latin artists juggle pop stardom and serious acting the way Danna Paola does. Born in Mexico, she broke through as the star of the children's telenovela Amy, la niña de la mochila azul before landing the teen drama Atrévete a soñar, whose double platinum soundtrack became a regional phenomenon. She lent her voice to Rapunzel in the Latin American Spanish dub of Disney's Tangled, and at just 18 became the youngest person ever to play Elphaba in a professional production of Wicked, a run that sold over 100,000 tickets in its first ten weeks in Mexico City. International audiences got to know her through the Netflix hit Élite, where she played the deliciously scheming Lucrecia "Lu" Montesinos. Musically she works in latin pop and pop, releasing music under the name Danna Paola and more recently simply as Danna. She has also dipped into fashion design and ABBA covers, because apparently there are no lanes she won't cross.
