Daryl Hall has one of the most distinctive voices in soul and rock, something even Robert Fripp noted when he wrote that he had "never worked with a more able singer." As the co founder and lead vocalist of Hall & Oates, Hall helped build the best selling duo in music history, racking up six US number one singles across the late 1970s and early 1980s with tracks like "Rich Girl", "Maneater" and "I Can't Go for That (No Can Do)". Those years also produced a run of multi platinum albums including Voices, Private Eyes and H2O. Outside of the duo, Hall has kept himself busy in interesting ways. His 1980 solo record Sacred Songs, made with prog guitarist Fripp, sits at an unusual crossroads between rock and experimentation. His 1986 solo album Three Hearts in the Happy Ending Machine gave him the top five hit "Dreamtime". Since late 2007 he has hosted Live from Daryl's House, a streaming series where he jams with guests ranging from Lisa Loeb to King Crimson's Robert Fripp, blending material from both catalogs in a loose, living room setting.
