About
De Nachtelijke Escapades is a five piece band from Leiden whose music sits at a restless crossroads of hiphop, funk, jazz and ska. Funky beats, thick bass lines, groovy guitar riffs and saxophone weave together with sharp, witty lyrics that swing between humour and poetry. Their earlier songs circled around the experiences of being young, covering love, sex, parties and self discovery, but their album De Dagelijkse Bezigheden marks a shift toward something more reflective: the search for balance, for direction, and for a footing in an uncertain digital world. The band draws on art, culture and the tension between everyday life and the mysteries of the night, channelling all of that into a sound they treat as a form of musical escapism. The result is music that feels celebratory and alive, with room for anyone who wants to feel something real.
