About
De Pianobazen have built a reputation on unpredictability. Their shows run almost entirely on audience requests, both submitted in advance and shouted out on the spot, which means the setlist is never the same twice. That combination of sharp musicianship and quick wit gives the performances a live energy that straight concert formats rarely match. Their repertoire roams freely, from guilty pleasure singalongs to beautiful classical pieces, and they pull it all off at remarkable speed. A season of sold out venues across the Netherlands shows the formula clearly works. Piano rock as a genre description only tells part of the story: the humor and spontaneous crowd interaction are just as central to what they do as the music itself.
