Few Norwegian bands have left a mark quite like deLillos. Formed in Oslo in 1984 by Lars Lillo Stenberg and bassist Lars Fredrik Beckstrøm, they are widely counted among the "Four Greats" of modern Norwegian pop, a group of 1980s acts credited with establishing a new tradition for rock music sung in Norwegian, alongside DumDum Boys, Raga Rockers and Jokke & Valentinerne. Their 1986 debut Suser avgårde remains one of their most beloved records to this day. Their catalog is remarkably deep, stretching from pop rock essentials in the late eighties through to Evige dager in 2022 and the 2025 release 20 Lillos uten filter. The band has gone through reunions and reconfigurations over the years, most notably when Lillo Stenberg and Beckstrøm revived the original lineup under the name deLillos '85 and released Suser videre in 2006. With a core that has stayed active for four decades, deLillos keep proving there is plenty of life left in Norwegian language rock.
