About
Also known as: Louis Anthony Grandison
Dexta Daps has built a reputation as dancehall's most unapologetic sex symbol, a tag that stuck hard after his 2017 debut album Intro came packaged with an erotic short film that racked up over 9.4 million YouTube views before the platform age restricted it. Born Louis Anthony Grandison in Kingston, Jamaica, he mixes the classic dancehall grit you'd expect from someone raised in Seaview Gardens with a melodic, sensual style that sets him apart from the crowd. Songs like "Shabba Madda Pot", with more than 23 million views, and the slower "No Underwear" show his range across love, lust and street reality. His versatility keeps things interesting. One track he's crooning about intimacy, the next he's in full "gunman" mode on something like "Squeeze" or "Grow Rough". His 2020 album Vent drew praise from dancehall heavyweights including Bounty Killer and Masicka, and his live shows at Reggae Sumfest have become must see events. He's also moved internationally, collaborating with Tory Lanez and Davido among others.
