Dick van Altena is a Dutch musician from Oosterhout whose career spans fifty years, a milestone that puts him in rare company in the Netherlands. His work sits at the crossroads of country, nederpop and indorock, with a particular affinity for the classic country sound that flourished in the era of Johnny Cash, seasoned with touches of sixties pop and rock. He has long been a fixture in theatre programmes across the country, not least through his involvement in the long running country show 'Back to the Country', a touring concert series that has been running for over two decades and reached its sixteenth edition.
