About
Also known as: Dub Pistol, The Dub Pistols
Dub Pistols have been blending big beat, dub, jungle and ragga into their own high energy electronic sound since 1996, when Barry Ashworth and Jason O'Bryan started the band in London. Their debut album Point Blank landed in 1998, and they have kept the momentum going ever since, now sitting on ten studio albums with their most recent, Frontline, arriving in 2023. Along the way they have worked with collaborators like Terry Hall, Rodney P and Blade, and their remix work is equally impressive, reworking tracks for Moby, Limp Bizkit, Ian Brown and the Crystal Method. Their reach stretches well beyond club floors. Dub Pistols tracks have turned up on film soundtracks for Blade II, Piranha 3D and Mystery Men, and their music has been licensed to video games including Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2, NBA Live 08 and FIFA 99. That kind of versatility across two decades says a lot about how well their sound travels.
