About
Duo Jatekok is a French piano duo made up of Adélaïde Panaget and Naïri Badal, two classically trained pianists whose best known trick is playing the music of Rammstein. They have been artistically tied to the German metal band for about ten years, to the point of opening for Rammstein's stadium shows, and they recorded the album Duo Jatekok Plays Rammstein in 2022. Their take on Rammstein goes beyond a novelty cover job. In their programme Rammstein On The Beach, a nod to Einstein On The Beach by Philip Glass, they argue that the band's repetitive riffs fit neatly alongside the patterns of American minimal music by Glass, Meredith Monk and John Adams. The result is two pianos turned into a hypnotic, trance inducing flow of sound.
