About
Eddie Jobson has one of the more startling CVs in British rock. He was 17 when he replaced Brian Eno in Roxy Music, which meant filling the shoes of one of the most distinctive players around. Before that he'd already stepped in for Darryl Way on violin in Curved Air. He stuck with Roxy for three studio albums and a pile of tours, and in 2019 he went into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the band. When Roxy went on hiatus, everyone wanted him. He passed on an offer from Procol Harum and joined Frank Zappa's band, then co founded the prog supergroup U.K. with John Wetton, Bill Bruford and Allan Holdsworth. He later lent keyboards and electric violin to Jethro Tull's A album and its world tour. Along the way he guested for King Crimson, Phil Manzanera and Bill Bruford, and picked up a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2017 Progressive Music Awards.
