Also known as: Eivør Pálsdóttir
Eivør Pálsdóttir, born in the small Faroese village of Syðrugøta, has built one of the most genre defying careers to come out of the North Atlantic. She moves between folk, jazz, electronica, medieval sounds and worldbeat with real ease, singing in Faroese, Icelandic, English, Norwegian and Swedish. What started as Faroese folk songs and ballads gradually expanded into something much harder to pin down, and that restless range is a big part of her appeal. She first gained attention as part of the Faroese rock band Clickhaze before developing a solo career that has produced a string of albums, from early records like Yggdrasil and Krákan through to Room, Bridges, Slør and Segl. Her track Trøllabundin has become something of a signature, and she composed the main theme for the TV series The Last Kingdom, which she performed live at Hammersmith Apollo in 2023.
