About
Eihwar call their sound "Viking War Trance," and it fits: tribal percussion, ritual style vocals and electronic rhythms, all built around Norse mythology. The French duo from Toulouse perform as Asrunn and Mark, keep their real identities private, and play masked on stage, putting collective energy ahead of individual faces. Their first track went up on YouTube in early 2023 with no real promotion and took off anyway. Season of Mist, home to Heilung and Eivør, snapped them up, and the Ragnarök compilation arrived that December. The debut album Viking War Trance followed in September 2024, entirely produced, recorded and mixed by the two of them. They've since played Hellfest, Wacken Open Air, Resurrection Fest and Motocultor. Wardruna, Heilung, Danheim and The Prodigy are the names they cite as influences, which explains the mix of folk and club energy. Their second album, Hugrheim, landed in March 2026.
