El Bosso & Die Ping Pongs helped put German ska on the map. Coming out of Münster in the early 1990s, they were part of a tight knit crew of bands, alongside Skaos, The Busters, The Braces and Blechreiz, who built the country's ska scene from the ground up. Their debut album, released in 1990 on Pork Pie, already contained what became something of a ska anthem in Germany: "Immer nur Ska". The band split in 1992 after a legendary four hour farewell show at a sold out Jovel Music Hall in Münster, but they never fully went away. They started playing live again in 2003, and after more than two decades returned to the studio for "Tag vor dem Abend", released in January 2012. Their back catalogue was later compiled on "Komplett!", making it easy to catch up on everything you missed.
