About
Elaine burst onto the South African music scene in 2019 with her self released debut EP Elements, a seven track blend of trap soul and R&B that hit No. 1 on both the national iTunes and Apple Music album charts. That made her the first independent female artist in South Africa to reach that milestone, and within two weeks of release she had already crossed a million streams. The EP went Platinum, every single track on it went Platinum, and it picked up a nomination for Best R&B/Soul Album at the South African Music Awards. Her sound sits somewhere between Jhené Aiko and H.E.R., with comparisons to Lauryn Hill and Beyoncé, whom she counts as her biggest inspirations. After signing to Columbia Records in late 2020, she kept building her catalog with singles like "Right Now", "Shine" and a Gold certified collaboration with rapper Blxckie called "Loving". Her long awaited debut album Stone Cold Heart finally arrived in October 2024, led by the single "Waiting on You".
