About
Elektronische Maschine formed in the Netherlands in 1994 and have built their sound around cold wave, EBM, EDM and electro. What sets them apart is the use of custom, homemade sounds crafted by J. van Woerkom, giving their music a distinctly personal texture you won't find anywhere else. Live, the band is hard to ignore: they command a stage with five members, each with a specific role. Richard de Boer handles synthesizers and vocals, Sonja de Boer plays electronic percussion, Wilco Oome covers synthesizers and percussion, Norman van Krimpen adds synthesizers and supporting percussion, and Dirk Nusink brings conga drums and additional percussion to the mix. That lineup gives their performances a layered, physical energy that sits somewhere between a club night and a full band show.
