About The Chameleons
Few bands capture the eerie tension of early 1980s Manchester quite like The Chameleons. Formed in Middleton in 1981, they built their sound around interlocking guitars, Burgess's commanding vocals, and a knack for atmosphere that drew comparisons to U2 and Echo and the Bunnymen without ever quite sounding like either.
