Elyanna made history at Coachella 2023 as the first artist to perform an entire set in Arabic at the festival, and that moment captures what makes her so compelling: she occupies a space where Arabic pop, R&B, jazz, and Latin rhythms meet in a way that feels genuinely new. Born in Nazareth and of Palestinian and Chilean heritage, she draws her sonic palette from icons like Fairuz and Abd El Halim Hafez while shaping something unmistakably her own. Her debut studio album Woledto, released in 2024, earned a glowing Pitchfork review that praised its handling of love, loss, and longing alongside quiet references to identity and displacement. The record clearly connected live too: she sold out The Wiltern in Los Angeles and KOKO in London on the supporting tour. She also became the first artist to sing in Arabic on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and in June 2024 she joined Coldplay at Glastonbury to perform "We Pray" and "Arabesque" in front of one of the biggest crowds in festival history.
