About
Also known as: Baby Spice, Emma Burton, Emma Lee Bunton
Best known as Baby Spice, the youngest member of the Spice Girls, Emma Bunton has a solo career that deserves more attention than it usually gets. The group, which became the best selling female act in history with over 100 million records sold, made Bunton a household name in the mid 1990s on the back of smashes like "Wannabe", "2 Become 1" and "Viva Forever". Her 2001 debut solo album A Girl Like Me hit number four on the UK Albums Chart and went gold, with "What Took You So Long?" proving the standout hit. She followed that up with Free Me in 2004, a record with a distinctly 1960s feel that actually outsold her debut, and then Life in Mono in 2006, which gave her the single "Downtown". Her fourth album, My Happy Place, arrived in 2019. Beyond recording, she has been a familiar face and voice in British media, judging Dancing on Ice and co hosting the Heart Breakfast radio show for several years. These days she hosts her own Sunday evening show on Heart Radio.
