Emotional Oranges

About

Emotional Oranges are a Los Angeles duo whose back story is almost too good: one half engineered records for Drake, the other coached vocals for Adele, and they crossed paths at a bar mitzvah. That origin alone signals the kind of musical range that shows up in their indie R&B sound, which pulls from The Weeknd's late night moods, The xx's minimalism, and the soulful warmth of Lauryn Hill. Their debut single 'Motion' landed on SoundCloud in 2018 and went on to become the theme song for RuPaul's Drag Race, a pretty wild launchpad. From there they rolled out two mixtapes under the title The Juice through Avant Garden and Island Records, toured across Japan, Australia, Europe and beyond, and kept building out their world with The Juicebox in 2021, a project featuring Vince Staples, Becky G, Channel Tres and Kiana Ledé among others.
