Ertebrekers write and rap entirely in West Flemish dialect, which already tells you something about how seriously they take their roots. The band name translates to 'heart breakers' in their local tongue, and their sound blends hip hop, groove and white soul into something that caught on fast. Their debut single 'De Zji' hit number one on the Flemish Top 50, and their first album 'Otel' spent 76 weeks on the Flemish album chart. They followed that up with collaborations including a track with South African rapper Jack Parow, before releasing their second album 'Crème' in 2019. The single 'Shimokitazawa' was inspired by Japan, a country the group toured more than once.
