About
Rotterdam based Eva van Manen works across pop, electronics and spoken word, threading them together into something that doesn't sit neatly in any single genre. As a singer songwriter, producer and poet all at once, she has a knack for holding opposites in tension: protest and vulnerability, the political and the intimate, the human and the natural world. Her third album Tussenruimte circles around different kinds of togetherness, from friendship and romance to finding common ground in a fragmented society. That pull toward connection runs deep in how she makes music, merging forms and disciplines rather than staying in one lane. The record moves between a quiet inner world and a rhythmic, outward facing one, and the space between those two poles is exactly where her work tends to live.
