Evans Blue took their name from a medical dye used to measure blood volume, which tells you something about the kind of band they are: a little clinical, a little dark, unmistakably Canadian. Formed in Toronto in 2005, they play alternative metal and moved over a million albums worldwide across five studio records and one live release. Their debut, The Melody and the Energetic Nature of Volume, shot straight to number one on the Billboard Top Heatseekers chart and put them on the road with acts like Alice in Chains, Breaking Benjamin, and Three Days Grace. The band has never been short on drama. Original vocalist Kevin Matisyn was voted out mid career over musical and business disagreements, and Dan Chandler stepped in to front the group from 2009 onward. Under Chandler, Evans Blue released a self titled record that scored a number one research track on SiriusXM Octane with "Sick of It", followed by the Graveyard of Empires era, which introduced the song "This Time It's Different" to the world via Sirius Radio in 2012.
