Evelyn Evelyn is the brainchild of Amanda Palmer (of The Dresden Dolls) and Jason Webley, built around one of the more inventive conceits in recent alt cabaret: the whole project is framed as though Palmer and Webley discovered a pair of conjoined twin sisters named Evelyn and Evelyn Neville. The two perform dressed in connected garments, fully committed to the fiction. Their first release, the limited edition EP Elephant Elephant, came out in 2007 on Webley's own 11 Records in a run of just 1,111 copies and sold out fast. It came packaged with a written account of how Palmer and Webley supposedly found the twins, plus a sticker of their two headed elephant mascot, Bimba and Kimba. The self titled full length followed in 2010, with a worldwide tour to match, and the project later expanded into a graphic novel released in 2011.
