F1rstman, born Hassan Syed in Lahore and raised in The Hague, is a Pakistani Dutch rapper and beatboxer who quietly built a reputation across two very different musical worlds. On the Dutch hip hop side, he scored Top 40 hits with "Round & Round" and "Overal", the latter filmed in Morocco with DJ Youss F and Boef. He also moves comfortably in the British South Asian scene, linking up with H Dhami, Mumzy Stranger, Juggy D and Raxstar on the track "Dance", which won Best Collaboration at the Brit Asia TV Music Awards in 2019. His ongoing Desi Mashup series, produced with Harun B and featuring artists like Hosai and H Dhami, shows he keeps one foot firmly in Punjabi influenced territory. It is a genuinely unusual mix of worlds for a Dutch rapper, and it works.
