About
Also known as: Fay Lovesky, Fay Lovski
Fay Lovsky is a Leiden born singer who plays a surprisingly odd set of instruments: guitar, bass, theremin and a singing saw. Her music sits in acid jazz territory, but she mixes it with a sharp sense of humour and a habit of turning irritation into song. One of her shows, Hakken in het zand, is built around resistance, the kind kids feel and grown Boomers like herself feel too. Watching angry people on the news leaves her feeling powerless, so she channels that into music and jokes. She sees herself as part of a long line of protest singing, in the company of Bob Dylan, Country Joe, Erika Mann and Annie M.G. Schmidt, and her particular trick is pairing the protest with a smile. In that show she performs alongside singer songwriter Laurens Joensen on guitar and vocals.
