About

Also known as: Fedder

Feeder built their reputation the hard way, selling over a million albums in the UK without ever signing to a major label. The Welsh rock trio, formed in Newport in 1994 by Grant Nicholas, Jon Lee and Taka Hirose, spent the late nineties grinding through the UK indie circuit before their third album, Echo Park, and its lead single Buck Rogers cracked the top five and put them firmly on the map. The band has weathered real tragedy too: drummer Jon Lee died in January 2002, and the remaining members pushed through, enlisting former Skunk Anansie drummer Mark Richardson to record Comfort in Sound that same year. Over a remarkable run spanning three decades, Feeder have kept charting and releasing music consistently, racking up twelve studio albums in total. Their 2024 double album Black/Red became their fifth consecutive top ten record, a pretty striking achievement for a band that has always operated outside the major label machine. Inducted into the Kerrang! Hall of Fame in 2019, they remain one of the more quietly resilient acts in British rock.
