About
Fiep is a Dutch band playing energetic indie rock that sounds a bit messy but knows exactly what it's doing. The project started when Veerle, stuck at home during the pandemic, decided to take her musical ambitions seriously and began writing a song every single day. She put a band together around those songs, and Fiep grew from there. The sound mixes indie pop with touches of post punk and shoegaze, wrapped around catchy melodies. Lyrics deal with restlessness, doubt, dreams and small everyday observations. The band has toured hard across the Netherlands and Europe, opened for Wet Leg, NewDad and Ratboys, and put out three EPs. Their debut album, Famous Thoughts, was written and recorded together as a proper band record. The motto sums up the approach: turn panic into magic.
