About
Fifth Angel built their name on the kind of driving, melodic heavy metal that defined the Seattle area scene in the mid 1980s. Starting out in Bellevue, Washington, they recorded a four song demo with producer Terry Date, landed a deal with Shrapnel Records, and put out their self titled debut in 1986. Epic Records picked them up and re released it in 1988, giving the band their biggest platform yet. The follow up, Time Will Tell, came out in 1989 but the label support dried up and the band scattered by 1990. Notably, their song 'Midnight Love' became the theme for The Howard Stern Show through the summer of 1992. After a long gap, the band pieced themselves back together and eventually returned to the studio for The Third Secret, released on Nuclear Blast in 2018, nearly three decades after their second album. That same lineup kept the momentum going with When Angels Kill in 2023, proving Fifth Angel still have plenty to say in the power metal space.
