About
Flatland Cavalry blend country, folk, Americana and rock into something that feels rooted in the Texas soil they came from. The Lubbock quintet, led by singer and primary songwriter Cleto Cordero, drew early comparisons to the Turnpike Troubadours when their debut album Humble Folks landed in 2016, peaking at number 17 on the Billboard Americana/Folk Albums chart. Their sound has only grown since then, with four more studio albums following, including Wandering Star in 2023, their first release on Interscope Records, and Work of Heart in 2026. Kaitlin Butts, who is married to Cordero, is a regular collaborator and a familiar face at their shows. In 2025, the band was inducted into the West Texas Walk of Fame in Lubbock, a nod to how deeply the region claims them as its own.
