Also known as: Danielle Anne Louise Gooding
Flava D, the alias of Danielle Anne Louise Gooding, built her reputation in grime before pivoting to the UK garage and bassline sound she's now known for. An early connection with Wiley led to collaborative tracks and introductions to artists like Ghetts and Merky Ace, and her track "Hold On" was the one that caught Butterz label owners Elijah and Skilliam's attention, landing her first proper release in 2011. From there she picked up regular slots on Rinse FM and Kiss FM and kept refining a style that Clash described as having a "sheer diversity" all her own. Her debut album More Love in 2015 was followed by a free digital sequel, More Love 2, in 2018, plus the Spicy Noodles EP on Night Bass. She is also a third of the supergroup TQD alongside Royal T and DJ Q, whose 2017 album ukg drew praise from Pitchfork and Mixmag. In 2020 she signed to drum and bass label Hospital Records, adding another chapter to an already versatile career.
