About
Louisville's Flaw have spent nearly three decades proving they're too stubborn to stay gone. Guitarist Jason Daunt started the band in 1996, and after grinding through a string of indie releases, the group landed on Republic and Universal Music Group, dropping Through the Eyes in 2001. That album topped the Billboard Top Heatseekers chart and put them on the Ozzfest stage, while the track Only the Strong landed on The Scorpion King soundtrack. Their follow up, Endangered Species, debuted at No. 42 on the Billboard 200 in 2004, with the single Recognize cracking the top 25 on the Mainstream Rock chart. Despite being dropped by Universal and cycling through enough breakups and lineup shuffles to fill a soap opera, Flaw kept coming back. Lead vocalist Chris Volz is the one constant, the thread holding the whole thing together through every split and reunion. The band released Divided We Fall in 2016, Vol IV: Because of the Brave in 2019, and a covers record called Revival in 2022, showing their nu metal and alternative metal sound still has plenty of fuel left in the tank.
